Broker-to-Broker (B2B) - How do I transfer my shares from another broker to Stake?

Shares previously purchased through another broker can be easily transferred to Stake.

Plus, if you transfer a shares valued at A$1,000 or more you’ll unlock $0 brokerage for 12 months (Individual accounts only for trade value up to A$30,000). See our terms and conditions for more information.

What you’ll need

It helps to have some information on hand to ensure a smooth transfer process:

  • The Holder Identification Number (HIN) associated with the outgoing shares (the HIN starts with the letter X and is followed by 10 digits')

  • The account number of the outgoing investment platform

  • Copy of your ID

  • Your signature

  • Portfolio Report (optional)

Please note, the name and postal address associated with the outgoing shares must match your Stake account.

If you’re having issues with your transfer or don’t have access to the above, please get in touch with the Stake support team here

Fees

It’s free to transfer your portfolio to Stake.  Please note, your departing platform may charge fees for an outgoing transfer.

See our terms and conditions and privacy policy for more information.

How long does it take?

Initiating a share transfer request only takes a few minutes.  Once you submit your documents, our Australia-based operations team handles the transfer process with your old broker. On average, stocks reach your Stake HIN within 40 hours.

Transfers can sometimes be delayed due to issues with your outgoing platform. We endeavour to facilitate your transfer request as quickly as possible and will inform you if there are extenuating circumstances that delay the process.
